Village Igloo La Rosière

A ski experience like no other by the Plan du Repos ski lifts, Village Igloo La Rosière welcomes you to an original staycation. Our ski instructor met with us at l’Ancolie restaurant, from there we walked to the Igloo Village. On arrival, we were amazed at the detail and work that went into this magical place. We attentively listened to the story of how the Igloo was built and admired the enormous ice carvings and sculptures dotted throughout the village.

We then took a seat in the high-ceilinged restaurant, white woolly blankets draped over the wooden benches, and we waited for our mouth-watering Savoyard fondue. A delicious meat board was prepared alongside the cheesy fondue, and some heart-warming wine. Be sure to make a reservation for dinner, so as not to miss out!

We entered our softly lit ice cave for the night, beautiful ice carvings on the wall above the bed, with snug sleeping bags or duvets to keep you cosy. Duvets are specially designed for negative temperatures, so you don’t have to worry about the cold. The igloo accommodates just eight people per night, so be sure to book well in advance for bigger groups.

Enjoy breath-taking views of the Aiguille Rouge with breakfast before the resort wakes up in the morning. Blue skies, interrupted by gentle paint strokes of white clouds were the perfect holiday picture. Home made brunch, cheese boards, soups and oysters can all be enjoyed at the Igloo during lunch hours, followed by the must-see Ice Bar. The bar is easy to access either by ski or foot and a good place to meet some fellow ski buddies. All-in-all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the charming Village Igloo La Rosière.
