We’ve always loved hopping over the channel to explore the rich culture of France, discovering the peculiarities and stories of each region. As far as we can, we try to visit a new département each time we can get away for the weekend. And with France being divided into 100 of them, we still have a lot of weekends to look forward to! This time, we found a lovely four-star hotel in the département of Tarn, right in the centre of Castres. Welcome to the Hotel Renaissance !

A 2-minute walk from bustling Place Jean Jaurès and the cathedral, Hotel Renaissance is set in the heart of Castres, a lovely French town in the Tarn department of the Midi-Pyrenees, east of Toulouse.

BY PLANE

  • Toulouse-Blagnac Airport (TLS) is located around 88 km / 54.7 mi (1 hour 17 minutes' drive) from the hotel. It is an international airport which is fairly well-served by flights from elsewhere in France along with a number of capitals cities and other large cities across Europe.

BY TRAIN

  • Castres train station is 3 kilometres from the hotel. You can find train times and prices on SNCF

HOW TO GET FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL

  • By taxi: A taxi from the airport to the hotel will take just over an hour and will cost 110€ - 130€.

    By public transport:     There is a bus from Toulouse Airport to the train station every half an hour which takes around 20 minutes. From there, there are trains every hour to Castres which take 60 - 90 minutes and cost 14€ - 22€. It is then a 15 minute walk or a quick taxi ride to the hotel.

    By car    : If you choose to hire a care, the journey will take just over an hour. Get on the A68, and take exit 2 towards Castres/Mazamet/Verfeil/Puylaurens. Continue on the A680 and take the 3rd exit onto the D20 then continue onto the N126. Take the 2nd exit towards Toulouse/N126 then Boulevard Henri Sizaire. Turn right onto Rue Saint Roch then follow Rue Amiral Galiber and continue onto Rue Victor Hugo where you will find the hotel. Grid reference: 43.604628, 2.239774.
