BY PLANE

  • Madrid–Barajas Airport (MAD) is the main airport serving Madrid, it sits within the city limits around 13 km (8.1 mi) northeast of the historic city centre.

    The airport receives flights from most capitals across Europe and many other large cities. It is the primary hub for Iberia, and other airlines that operate a large number of flights to this airport include Air Europa, Ryanair and EasyJet.

HOW TO GET FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL

  • - By taxi: The hotel is around 12 km from the airport (around 15-20 minutes by car). The journey should cost no more than 30€ (around £22) excluding luggage fees.

    - By metro: Take line 8 (pink) from Madrid Barajas Airport, and change at Nuevos Ministerios for the line 10 (blue) in the direction of: Puerta De Arganda. Get off after one more stop at Gregorio Marañón. A one way ticket costs 5€ (around £3.70). Arriving to Madrid you may want to consider the Tourist Travel Pass which includes journeys to/from the airport and can work out cheaper if you plan on using public transport during your stay.

    (Returning to the airport: if you have a regular single ticket (costing only 1 euro), you can buy a supplementary 2 euro airport ticket, working out cheaper than the 5 euro airport ticket.)

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

  • Gregorio Marañón metro station, served by line 7 (orange) and 10 (blue), is located right alongside the hotel on Paseo de la Castellana.

    The following buses also stop around the hotel: The number 12 at Jose Abascal - Pº Castellana & numbers 7, 14, 27, 40, 147, 150, N22 & N24 at Pza. Doctor Marañon.
