Hôtel Lancaster ★★★★★
7 rue de Berri
75008
Paris
France
The Lancaster **** is ideally located in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, two steps away from the Champs-Elysées and the Arc de Triomphe.
Paris is served by three main airports: Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG), located 25 km / 16 mi to the northeast of Paris, Paris Orly (ORY), located 13 km / 8.1 mi south of Paris, and Paris Beauvais (BVA), around 85 km / 53 mi north of Paris (near the city of Beauvais).
Paris Charles de Gaulle and Paris Orly receive flights from most capitals and major cities across Europe. Meanwhile, low-cost airlines (notably Ryanair), operate flights to Paris Beauvais from many cities across Europe.
From Paris Charles de Gaulle airport:
- By taxi: They are easily found outside each terminal, make sure to take an officially licensed taxi from the taxi rank. Fares vary considerably depending on traffic, but expect to pay anywhere between 50 to 65 euros.
- By train: This is generally the most cost-efficient method. The airport is connected to the city via Line B of the RER; take the train to Châtelet Les Halles, and switch to the metro system, taking line M1 (yellow) for 7 stops to George V. Tickets are 9,75€ or 6,85€ for children (4- 9).
- By bus: The Roissybus runs directly to Opéra in central Paris, tickets cost around 10 euros. Once at Opéra either take a taxi, metro or RER to the hotel. Travelling by RER you will need line A from the Opéra station, getting off at Charles de Gaulle Etoile. From there walk down the Champs-Elysées until you go past George V metro station then take the first left onto Rue de Berri. The hotel is along this road and will on the left.
Alternatively, Cars Air France run buses directly to Arc de Triomphe/ Charles de Gaulle Etoile. However these are far more expensive, at around 20 euros per person.
From Paris Orly airport:
- By taxi: They are easily found outside each terminal, make sure to take an officially licensed taxi from the taxi rank. Fares vary considerably depending on traffic, but expect to pay anywhere between 30 to 40 euros.
- By train: The airport is connected to RER line B via the bus service ORLYVAL. The bus will drop you off at the RER station Anthony. You can take the RER to Châtelet Les Halles, switch to the metro, and take line M1 (yellow) for 7 stops to George V. The combined journey costs around 11.65€ and 5.80€ for children (4-10).
From Paris-Beauvais airport:
- By train: Take a taxi (around 11€) or shuttle bus (around 4€ per person) to Beauvais station, from there take the TER line 19 to Paris Gare du Nord. Then take bus 42 to Alma – Marceau (a ten minute walk from the hotel) or the RER line B to Châtelet Les Halles followed by metro line M1 (yellow) to George V.
- By bus: There is a shuttle bus operating between the airport and Porte Maillot in the city centre. From there take the metro line M1 (yellow) for 2 stops to George V.
From the UK it is possible to book via Eurostar, otherwise Thalys or TGV operate from other neighbouring counties and elsewhere in France. Most international trains arrive at Paris Gare du Nord or Paris Gare de l'Est.
The nearest metro is George V served by line M1 (yellow). It is a 3 minute walk to the hotel on Rue de Berri. Walk down the Champs-Elysées away from the Arc du Triomphe and take the second left onto Rue de Berri. The hotel is down this road and on the left.
