Domaine du Breuil

Catchphrase: Old-world tradition in Cognac

Many people visit France each year to taste the fabulous variety of high quality wines and champagnes. A smaller handful of connoisseurs prefer the Charente region in south-western France, where the town of Cognac sits straddling the Charente River, about 100 miles north-east of Bordeaux. Where wine is more sophistication and champagne trendy-chic, cognac is all about tradition. Cognac lovers come from far and wide to the Domaine de Breuil to sip their after-dinner cognac in a balloon snifter, in front of a roaring fire (dog and hunting rifle not far away) in this beautiful 19th century home that once housed the headquarters of one of the largest producers of cognac in the world.
