Hammet House ★★★★

Modern style, delicious local cuisine and Georgian grandeur in a gorgeous rural setting.

By Edward Fairbairn, VeryChic correspondent
Situated in a beautiful seven-acre estate on the banks of the Teifi River, the elegant 18th century façade of Hammet House invites you in through its huge, arched oak front door. Inside, the stone, ivy and Georgian grandeur of the exterior give way to some bold contemporary décor, providing the hotel with plenty of distinctive style and character. More than just a pretty face, this brilliantly reinvented country house also offers some of the finest food around, a luxurious finish and some of the country’s most spectacular scenery right on your doorstep!

BY CAR

  • From London/Cardiff/M4
London to Hammet House takes about 4 hours. Cardiff Airport to Hammet House takes just over 2 hours. We recommend you drive to us via Narberth, as other routes are rather ‘scenic’ and windy! This is the most straightforward route:

Drive to the end of the M4, then take the A48 towards Carmarthen.
At Carmarthen follow the A40 towards St Clears.
Stay on the A40 until the Penblewin roundabout, take 3rd exit on the A478 signposted Cardigan.
Stay on the A478 through Clunderwen, Llandisillio, Efailwen, Crymych & Blaenffos.
After Blaenffos turn Right on the B4332 towards Boncath.
Take next Right on the B4332 through Boncath.
After Boncath, turn Left signposted Llechryd.
Stay on this road for 5 minutes, then you will see the Hammet House driveway and gateposts on your Left.
Straight down the drive, bear left at the cottages and you will arrive at Hammet House.

    From Aberystwyth & the North

From Aberystwyth take the A487 & at the Cardigan roundabout turn left towards Newcastle Emlyn and Carmarthen on the A484. Drive 3 miles, climbing a long hill and descending again. Pass through Llechryd village and at the bottom of the hill, as the road bears left, turn right over the stone bridge signposted Cilgerran Castle, and immediately after turn right into the Hammet House driveway. Straight down the drive, bear left at the cottages and you will arrive at Hammet House.
