Eurostars Andorra Centre ★★★★★

Experience the winning trio: relaxation, shopping and the mountains.

By Melanie Webb, VeryChic correspondent
Andorra is a peculiar yet fascinating little country surrounded by a most magnificent landscape; the Pyrenees. The list of activities that can be practised in this natural haven is endless both in winter, when the tops become covered with snow, and in the summer when sparkling, fresh rivers fill in the gaps in the mountains and a verdant green reigns. Down at the bottom, the mountains give way to a large selection of boutiques and shops, more than 2000! Have the best of both worlds in Andorra…

BY PLANE

  • There are no airports in Andorra. However, the French airports of Toulouse, Carcassonne and Perpignan and the Spanish airports of Barcelona and Girona are close to the principality. The most convenient are: Toulouse-Blagnac Airport and Barcelona-El Prat Airport.

    Flying to Toulouse-Blagnac Airport:
    - From the UK: Direct flights from London are operated by British Airways and low-cost airline EasyJet. Easyjet also fly direct from Bristol. During summer months, other low-cost airlines fly from other cities, such as Jet2 from Manchester and Edinburgh or Flybe from Birmingham.

    - From Ireland: Flying from Dublin, you can find direct flights offered by Aer Lingus in all but the winter months.

    - From Germany: Lufthansa fly direct from Munich and Frankfurt while Air France and Germanwings fly from Hamburg. During the summer, Air France also fly direct from Berlin.

    - From the Netherlands: Air France fly direct from Amsterdam all year round, but costs are high and flights are not regular; during the summer, Vueling offer indirect flights for generally lower prices.

    - From Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland: Unfortunately there are no direct flights from any of these countries, nor any immediately obvious indirect routes. Toulouse can be reached by booking with a combination of low-cost airlines, with a stop-over for example in Paris.

    - From France: Air France and Easyjet provide direct flights from Paris; and between Air France, Easyjet and Hop!, flights are available from cities like Lille, Lyon, Nice, Marseille and Strasbourg.

    Flying to Barcelona-El Prat Airport:
    - From the UK: British AirwaysIberia and low cost Monarch, Vueling and EasyJet all operate direct flights out of London. EasyJet also fly direct from Bristol and Belfast, while Ryanair fly direct from Birmingham, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

    - From Ireland: Flying from Dublin, you can find direct flights operated by Aer Lingus and Ryanair, while Ryanair also fly direct from Cork.

    - From Germany: Carriers flying direct out of Berlin include: Air Berlin, Iberia, Vueling, EasyJet and Germanwings. Lufthansa and Brussels Airlines also fly direct out of Hamburg, Frankfurt and Munich. Vueling also fly out of Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Frankfurt and Munich.

    - From the Netherlands: KLM, Iberia, Vueling and Transavia all provide direct flights from Amsterdam to Barcelona, while Transavia also fly direct out of Rotterdam and Eindhoven.

    - From Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland: SAS, Norwegian and Vueling fly direct from Stockholm, Sweden, Oslo, Norway and Copenhagen, Denmark. Ryanair also fly out of Stockholm and Oslo. Finnair, Iberia, Vueling and Norwegian fly direct from Helsinki, Finland.

    - From France: Air France, Iberia, Vueling and EasyJet all fly direct from Paris. Vueling airlines further provide direct flights from Lyon, Toulouse, Marseille and Nice, while EasyJet also fly direct from Lyon and Nice.

HOW TO GET FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL

  • Considering the relatively important distance between these airports and the hotel, we suggest renting a car at either of these airports and driving to the hotel. Driving instruction from these 2 airports are listed below.

    From Toulouse-Blagnac Airport:
Follow the signs towards Toulouse followed by Montpellier, which will eventually put you onto the A61 (a toll road). Exit for the A66/E9 for Andorra. Continue on this road, which will become the N20 towards Andorra. Take a gentle right onto the N320/N22, before taking the Túnel d’Envalira. The tunnel will bring you out onto the CG-2 towards Andorra La Vella. Keep following the CG-2 until you enter into Andorra La Vella and follow signs for the CG-1. At the roundabout continu straight through onto the GC-1. Continue through 2 roundabouts and then make the third left onto Carrer Dr. Vilanova. At the roundabout, continue straight through until Carrer Dr. Vilanova ends and turns into Plaça Rebés. Take the next right onto Av. Meritxell and follow it for about 200 metres. The hotel will be on the left, on the corner of Av. Meritxell and Carrer Dr. Molines.

    From Barcelona-El Prat Airport:
Leaving the airport, follow signs for Girona on the C-31. Continue on that road and take exit 192A to Girona. This will put you onto the B22, keep following the direction of Girona and it will lead you onto the B-20. Take exit 9 (right after a tunnel). Follow the signs for the E-9/C-16 to Manresa. Continue straight on the C-16. As you reach the end, stay left for Andorra and keep following this direction onto the N260 followed by the N-145.

As you enter Andorra this road becomes the CG-1. Cross 8 roundabouts and make the next left over the river onto Carrer Dr. Molines.
