Ah! L’oneotourisme, a word I learnt whilst I was away in a dreamland for ten days or so. I can’t quite remember because of the dream-like stupor in which I remained whilst I was staying at the Domaine des Peyres, lost in the yards of vines and captured by the fruity and heady smells that come with it. The word actually means wine tourism, but I believe many different connotations and indeed, delightful experiences, are simultaneously implied, especially, here in the luscious Luberon.

The Domaine des Peyre is located in the Luberon, close to Avignon and Fontaine-de-Vaucluse and just an hour from Marseille.
BY PLANE
The closest airport is the Avignon – Provence Airport which is located only 30km northeast of the hotel. However, flights to Avignon are limited to 3 seasonal flight routes from the UK. The next closest airport is the Marseille – Provence Airport which is locate 80km southwest of the hotel. Flights to Marseille are listed below:
- From the UK: British Airways, EasyJet and Ryanair fly from London. Seasonal flights are also operated by easyJet from Bristol, and Ryanair from Edinburgh.
- From Ireland: Ryanair operates seasonal flights out of Dublin.
- From Germany: Air France flies from Berlin and Lufthansa flies from Frankfurt and Munich.
- From Sweden: Ryanair flies seasonally from Stockholm.
- From Denmark: Norwegian Air Shuttle flies from Copenhagen.
- From Finland: SAS flies seasonally from Helsinki.
- From France: Air France flies directly from Paris, Biarritz and Bordeaux.
HOW TO GET FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL
- By Car: Considering the relative isolation from public transport of the, the easiest way to arrive to the hotel is to rent a car at the airport and drive. This will also be hassle free way to arrive especially if traveling with children. From the airport, take A7 motorway north towards Lyon and take N°25 exit for Cavaillon. Go through the town of Cavaillon (centre-ville) and follow the signs for Apt on the D2. After passing through the town of Robion, take the second road on the right, the D29 and you will see Domaine des Peyre 500 metres further down on the right.
BY TRAIN
Having recently inaugurated the London Marseille line, the Eurostar now stops in Avignon at the Avignon TGV station, which is just 6km southwest of the city centre. From the station you can either take a taxi to the hotel or also rent a car and drive to the hotel. Taking a taxi will take about 40 minutes and cost between 65€ and 80€. If you choose to rent a car, take A7 motorway south towards Marseille and take N°25 exit for Cavaillon. Go through the town of Cavaillon (centre-ville) and follow the signs for Apt on the D2. From Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays, Sundays and French bank holidays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
