Roxy Plaza ★★★★

Normally France is our first option when thinking of a destination with fine wines and delectable cuisine, but there are other places in Europe that boast such delights. One such other region is the Veneto region of Italy and our chosen destination for our next trip; five days surrounded by the vineyards and revitalising thermal waters in Soave. We were glad to have stumbled upon a new destination for our gourmet travels that also involved a luxury hotel, and that is what our beloved VeryChic is for!

There’s no pleasure like the pleasure I receive by indulging in gastronomy and succulent wine. But I cannot deny how comfortable and relaxing it is to do so from the comfort of such a hotel as the Roxy Plaza, which is placed just a couple minutes walk from the centre of town of Soave and its many traditional Italian restuarants. It is also in the perfect position to visit other parts of Veneto including Venice and Verona, such sublime locations that Shakespeare chose to situate many of his plays there. The staff at Roxy Plaza are happy to suggest day trips and all other trips to suit your needs and interests, and trust me, they know their way round!

But away from the crowded touristic hubbub we found the tranquil hotel Roxy Plaza. The calm is evident from the glossy reception dressed in beige and whites with friendly personnel to greet their treasured guests. The lobby is grand and spacious with lots of space in which to chill and on sofas on which to sit.

Our room reflected a similar spaciousness and comfort. Bigger than any room you’d find in the Italian cities, the room had plenty of space to walk about and the windows allowed the room to be brightly lit. The marble bathroom is glossy and pristine. Our beautiful superior room looked out onto the medieval city and the castle could be easily spotted in the distance. It was a great image to wake up to of a morning and made us realise the beauty in the tranquillity of this region where I felt like I could truly rest. Every morning we woke up to a fresh continental buffet breakfast, anxious to set foot into the outside world explore the vineyards and thermal whirlpools.

In the evening when we arrived back to the place we soon learnt to call home, we could finish the night with a nightcap in the American bar with that all famous Italian Prosecco or begin our evening with a typical Veneto aperitif which involves bitters such as Campari or Apreol. Veneto is known for its delicious rice and polenta dishes, and I was planning to eat my fair share of both. Indulging in the delights of the region was what I planned on doing by coming to this luxurious location so that was something I was not about to miss out on!
