“Zilwa” means islander in Creole, and this is your invitation to join the islanders, whether on a romantic break or travelling with all the family in tow. The seaside bungalows mix the Mauritian flavours with more contemporary and modern décor to give a feeling of authenticity and spaciousness. Expect the rustic use of wood, coconut fibre carpets and driftwood frames and screens. The blocks of primary colours add interest to the room as well as representing the islanders’ bright and happy mood. From almost every bungalow and room you can fall asleep to the relaxing sounds of the waves and see the glittering of the water from large windows. The bungalows are large and roomy, some opening up straight onto the beach, others with terraces on which to bask in the sun.

There are so many heavenly coves of the hotel however, we are sure that it is not in your bungalow that you will stay… with beach volley ball, a sports hall, tennis, table tennis, kayaks, pedalos and more, plus a plethora of activities available for an extra fee. Why not spend the morning relaxing by one of the four pools and the afternoon learning to stand-up paddle? Or you could even go on an adventure on a glass-bottomed boat! Of course if you like to take a more relaxing approach to things you can spend your day recharging your batteries and basking in the sun, then taking a dip in the sea or pool to cool off. If you’re in need of refreshment you can head to Lor Disab, which means “right on the beach”, whilst your feet are nestled in the sand enjoy some refreshing treats. Its red coloured roof playfully imitates that of Cap Malheureux’s well-known chapel.

Some have a formal ambience and dress code, others are more laid back. The Karay is the hotel’s main restaurant and where breakfast is served. The woven furniture, bright cushions, use of wood and pearl features bring contemporary Mauritius culture to life. You can indulge in a continental breakfast as well as Mauritian specialities and of course, some juicy delicious tropical fruits.
