With breathtaking views overlooking Nice and the Bay of Angels, Hotel La Pérouse is more like a home than a hotel. Or rather a charming mansion, named after Jean-François Galaup, Count of La Pérouse, a renowned French explorer of the new world. Explore Nice starting with the most beautiful private beach in the area. From your comfortable home from home, stroll the charming streets of old Nice, its galleries, shops and countless fantastic restaurants and cafes.
The Hôtel la Pérouse is something of a maze inside, with four elevators and six floors, but getting a little turned around is worth it for the views. With contemporary decor inside and an elegant façade out, this hotel is a luxurious delight, without being overstated.
Old Nice is often overshadowed by its noisier, more in-your-face resorts along the Riviera, where luxury is thrown around carelessly. So don’t expect too many nightclubs in the area. But do expect to come back feeling refreshed.
Have breakfast on your balcony. Location, location, location has kept this hotel in business for centuries, which means most rooms have a balcony and view which you will surely miss upon waking up once back at home. Afterwards, wander down to the heated pool. You can also grab a bite at Le Patio, sitting under the shade of the lemon trees.
The Hôtel la Pérouse is one of those rare unspoilt jewels in a fast-changing world. The rooms on the inside, however, have kept pace, giving you the best of the old and new, while looking down on the Bay of Angels. Give yourself at least a few nights here to recharge your batteries, feel refreshed and leave your tired, overworked identity behind.
