It is true that “all that glitters is not gold” but all that is gold does glitter, in fact it sparkles and might even make your heart flutter, and the Golden Coast is definitely no exception. A location that’s famous for family holidaymakers, this place is child friendly, adult friendly and even teenager friendly thanks to all the activities which this region boasts, its beauty and last, but never least, the H10 Vintage Salou, a great place to stay in the picturesque Catalonia.
This newly renovated “vintage” hotel is also elegant, sleek and sophisticated revealed from the first moment you gaze at its shining façade. Inside, its lobby is furnished with lavish sofas and chic décor. The bar, which stands glossy in the background provides the perfectly mixed drinks for the perfect nightcap. But the lobby is so large you can spend it in the cosy atmosphere of the bar area or under the bright glass skylights of the conservatory where light furniture make up a fresh and light ambience. The hotel is also not short of wit and intelligence, in one corner you will find tall armchairs by a bookcase, whilst in another where the pool table hangs a picture that reads; “I’d agree with you but then we’d both be wrong.”
At the reception desk, below the quirky lights sit the friendly and welcoming staff who will hand you the keys to your equally quirky yet chic room. The rooms are standard size with the added luxury of a furnished balcony, choose a deluxe room for that little extra spaciousness and a view over the large and glittering pool at the heart of the resort, or go for the family room if you’re planning to take the whole family cohort on holiday! The pristine tiled bathrooms are large and come with a Spanish-style walk in shower.
At the heart of the resort is its large, round, marine, blue pool, encircled by bright blue reclining sun beds, just what you want to see when you embark upon a relaxing holiday! Nearby, providing a perfect atmosphere to spend your day by the pool is the Aqua bar. It’s the perfect place for a midday snack, light lunch or simply refreshments by the pool. Inside is bright and airy with quirky Catalonian flavour.
In the evening, should you desire somewhere a little more formal in which to dine, make your way to the Restaurante Les Vinyes. It also boasts a poolside terrace should you wish to eat alfresco under the starry Spanish sky. Inside you can expect to see some live show-cooking at their open kitchen and choose from a large range at their plentiful buffet, fish, meat, pasta… the list goes on! For a nightcap, head to the hotel’s lobby and conservatory when you can finish off your perfect day with the perfect cocktail, gin and tonic or coffee. Here, life is as sweet as sugar… which is why the bar named after it, “azúcar” in Spanish.
The H10 boasts a rather impressive location, and some brilliant facilities but it also has heart and soul. Entertainment is provided for the adults and the kids, for the little ones from four to twelve there is a program completely dedicated to keeping them occupied so that you, the adults can make the most of your time. Activities for the older ones amongst you, including the particular teenagers, include volleyball, Aquagym, pétanque pitches and even archery! You can also expect evening shows, games and competitions.
With all of this at the hotel and more just waiting to be discovered, it might be hard to say goodbye!
