BY PLANE
Crete's main airport, Heraklion International Airport, “Nikos Kazantzakis” (HER), sits just east of Heraklion on the central northern coast, around 68km / 41mi / 56 minutes' drive from the hotel. The airport receives flights from a large number of cities across Europe, including the UK. Many flights operate in the summer season, otherwise it may be required to fly indirect via Athens.
From the airport to the hotel:
• Taxi: the taxi rank can be found outside the airport’s main terminal, however we highly recommend booking a taxi/transfer service in advance.
• Bus: buses run about once an hour to Aghios Nikolaos, taking around 90 minutes. From there, take a local bus to Elounda, taking around 18 minutes.
• Car: major car rentals can be found at the airport terminals, Heraklion Airport (and city) is connected to Elounda to the east via the E75 motorway, the drive should take a little under 60 minutes.
From Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays, Sundays and French bank holidays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
