The four-star Taos Hotel is located in the heart of Tignes-Le-Lac village in the French Alps. It is near Lake Tignes and near all the ski resort’s amenities with direct access to the Lavachet trail.
The closest airport served by scheduled and international flights is Geneva Airport, about 223 km/ 139 mi drive to the west of the hotel.
From the UK: British Airways, EasyJet and seasonally Monarch all operate direct flights out of London. EasyJet also fly direct from Bristol, Manchester and Edinburgh, and seasonally from Birmingham, Glasgow and Belfast.
From Ireland: Aer Lingus operate direct flights from Dublin and Ryanair fly seasonally from Cork.
From Germany: Easyjet fly direct from Berlin, Monarch fly direct from Frankfurt and Munich, while Germanwings fly from Hamburg and Dusseldorf.
From the Netherlands: KLM and Easyjet both provide direct flights out of Amsterdam and Transavia fly seasonally from Rotterdam.
From Sweden & Denmark: SAS, Swiss International, EasyJet and (seasonally) Norwegian all fly direct from the respective capital cities, Stockholm and Copenhagen.
From Norway: Norwegian and Swiss International fly out of Oslo. From Finland: Finnair and (seasonally) Scandinavian Airlines and TUIfly operate flights from Helsinki.
From France: Air France and Easyjet operate flights from Paris. Easyjet also fly from Bordeaux, Toulouse and Nice. Twin Jet fly from Marseille.
- By bus: There are a lot of different transfer services that can take you to Tignes from Geneva Airport. We recommend Snowbus because they offer around 4 different bus times per day for a reasonable price or around 115€ for both ways.
- By car: Follow directions for the Geneva/Le Lignon, take the A1/E25 and merge onto the A41, take the exit towards Turin/Milan/Grenoble, keep left and continue towards E70/E712/N201. Keep right at the fork and follow the signs towards Albertville/Grenoble/Turin via Tunnel de Fréjus/Chambéry and merge onto the E70/E712/N201, continue onto the A43, take the exit towards Turin/Albertville/Saint-Jean-De-Maurienne/Milan, keep left and continue onto the A430. Continue straight, at the roundabout take the 1st exit onto Marechal Leclerc Avenue/D1090, at the second roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Stade Avenue/D1090, at the next roundabout continue straight still on the D1090. Then turn right onto Route de Val d’Isere/D902, take the D87A towards Tignes, continue straight until the roundabout. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit, still on the D87A, take the 1st exit at the next roundabout still on the D87A, and at turn left onto Passage Olympique 2, right onto Montée de Lô Nanssil and take a sharp left at Place des Drapeaux. Continue onto Prom. du Tovière and then on Route du Rosset, the hotel will be on your right.
The train station of Tignes is Bourg St Maurice, 35-minute drive from the hotel. You can take a Eurostar train from London St. Pancreas International. The journey can take between eight and a half hours up to fifteen hours and costs approx. 110€. From Paris you can take the TGV. Most capital destinations in Europe will be able to take you to Tignes, with either one, two or more changeovers. Expect most trains to be night journeys.
