Occidental Praha Five ★★★★

Sophistication and luxury in the City of a Thousand Spires.

By Jo Weston, VeryChic Correspondent
Prague is like Venice, and every great European capital; the more you walk its streets, the more hidden corners and secret charms you discover, and the more enchanted you become. Prague and I still had more walking to do; I had a long standing infatuation with this Gothic masterpiece of a city. This was the excuse behind my unplanned jaunt to Prague, tagging along on my husband's business trip. We would be staying in The Occidental Praha Five - Barceló Hotel ****, a stylish modern hotel, set in the heart of the commercial centre of Prague.

PLANE

  • The city is served by Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG), located around 10 km / 6 mi west of the city centre. It is fairly well served, and receives flights from most captials and a number of other major cities across Europe. The airport serves as a hub for Czech Airlines, and also as a base for SmartWings, Wizz Air, and Ryanair.

From the airport to the hotel:
    • Transfer/taxi: it's possible to arrange a transfer service in advance directly with the hotel for an extra charge, otherwise taxis are available at the airport. The journey should take around 20 minutes.
    • Public transport: the total journey should take around 40 minutes. Take the Prague Airport Bus line 100 from Terminal 1 to Zličín. From there, take metro line B to Andel, a 5 minute walk from the hotel.

  • Local tourist taxes are not included in the VeryChic prices: 50 CZK per person, per night (to be paid directly to the hotel)
