The Mount Somerset ★★★★

A quintessential Regency-period mansion nestled in the English countryside.

By Hannah Wright, VeryChic correspondent
Set amid four acres of award-winning gardens on an elevated position overlooking the Quantock Hills, The Mount Somerset is a lavish country house hotel and spa and a dreamy setting for a countryside escape. It transports you back in time with its high ceilings, log fires, antique furniture, sweeping spiral staircases and opulent décor throughout. But fear not, this stately Regency mansion maintains very modern standards of luxury, as well as housing a two AA Rosette-awarded fine dining restaurant and a sumptuous spa. With National Parks, the West Country and myriad traditional towns and villages lying on the doorstep, this one ticks all the boxes.
