The Christmas period can be a stressful time, but once it’s all over we can’t deny that we miss it. So whether it’s a pre-Christmas trip to escape the stress or a post-Christmas one to flee from the January blues, it’s time to book yourself a sundrenched treat. Characterised by rolling vineyards, cobblestoned streets, palm-fringed coastlines and majestic castles, Portugal is a diverse country with a laidback vibe. This time we’ve found somewhere special in the sunny south: a four-star hotel offering the tranquillity of a small town but with Lisbon just half an hour away. Situated a stone’s throw from the golden sands of Tamariz beach, Vila Galé Estoril boasts a swimming pool, a spa, two restaurants and other modern-day conveniences…
