Villa Otero by Happyculture ★★★★

We woke up from our supremely comfortable bed to the Mediterranean sunshine peeping through the shutters. The smell of breakfast dragged us out of bed and onto our private balcony, where we enjoyed a feast of cereals, fresh juice, tea and coffee, meat, cheese, eggs, croissants and sweet treats. We peered over the wrought iron railings and onto the street below, watching the Niçois people go about their enviable laidback lives.

Our Superior Room was decorated in a Tuscan style, with designer wallpaper, wooden flooring, beautiful lampshades and fine curtains on the floor-to-ceiling windows which opened to reveal our fully furnished balcony.

After freshening up in our ensuite bathroom, we wandered downstairs, admiring the traditional decoration on the way – opulent mirrors and paintings, art deco lighting, vintage wallpaper adorned with works of art. The friendly staff suggested that we could stroll along the well-renowned Promenade des Anglais, admiring the Belle Époque architecture and pausing to soak up the sun on one of the chaise bleues, ideal for some leisurely relaxation time alongside the azure water of the Bay of Angels. Or maybe we could wander through the Old Town and browse the bustling stalls of the markets, a hive of activity with an unmistakable Mediterranean vibe. Today we fancy something even more laidback, so we picked up some French cheese, bread, wine and headed to a verdant park for a tasty picnic, followed by coffee and dessert on a sundrenched plaza in the centre.

Evening came and we strolled back through the Musician’s Quarter to our beloved Villa Otero by Happyculture ****. We enjoyed a nightcap in the lounge bar, with wicker furniture and a grand piano, before retreating to our cosy bedroom. I am reassured by the knowledge thatVilla Otero by Happyculture **** will welcome me back whenever I need a fix of sun, relaxation and luxury.
