ADMINISTRATIVE FORMALITIES
Visitors from many countries, including the UK and countries in the European Union, do not need a visa to enter Mauritius for tourism purposes. On arrival, your passport will be stamped allowing entry to the country for 60 days. You’ll need to be able to provide evidence of onward or return travel. (Visitors from a number of other countries can obtain a visa for tourism purposes upon arrival in Mauritius).
Your passport should be valid for the proposed duration of your stay. No additional period of validity beyond this is required. It should have at least one blank passport page.
BY PLANE
Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport (MRU), serves the island of Mauritius, and is located around 48 km southeast of the capital city of Port Louis. The airport does receive a number of direct flights from major European cities such as: London, Manchester, Paris, Frankfurt, Cologne, Milan and Rome. Otherwise, you may need to fly indirect via one of these cities or for example via Dubai, or a city on mainland Africa such as Dar es Salaam in Tanzania.
From the airport to the hotel:
Car rental services are available at the airport, it is around 1 hour’s drive to reach the hotel.
From Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays, Sundays and French bank holidays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
