That’s funny, because Dalí never even had the chance to stay at Les Matins de Paris, the most recent addition to the architect, Vincent Bastie’s portfolio of divine boutique hotels. What with its fabulous spa all decked out in softly-lit tiles, its lavish breakfast and gorgeous colourful rooms, “satisfaction” doesn’t quite cover it…

30s Paris enticed Americans restricted by the racism, censorship and prohibition of their country, and this gem of a boutique hotel is located right where they all flocked. The South Pigalle quarter situates you just near enough to the bustle of the Montmartre area to entice you with its Sacré Coeur yet amidst the rather more chic bistros and little boutiques of the Rue des Martyrs.

With only 33 rooms spread lavishly over six floors, everything here is spacious, decadent and comfortable. Here your artistic eye is certainly gorged with beauty, from the striking artwork displayed on the walls to the bold coloured curtains that perfectly match the blocks of colour throughout.

For an artist to truly train his soul, I believe, he must first feed it, which, in Paris, is a delightful endeavour. Here the decadence starts with complimentary champagne and fresh fruit in the room (merci, VeryChic!) and never lets up. The breakfast is lavish, featuring the city’s best pastries and region’s top cheeses, even offering truffle omelettes in season; in the evening, the wine bar’s offerings will please even the most discerning wine lover. Finally, though the quarter overflows with fantastic restaurants, the hotel still offers a fabulous room service.
As I tucked into some mushroom gnocci on the balcony looking across to the twinkling l’Opéra one evening, I couldn’t deny that my eyes, soul and stomach were all truly satisfied by the fabulous Les Matins de Paris…

Paris is served by three main airports: Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG), located 25 km / 16 mi to the northeast of Paris, Paris Orly (ORY), located 13 km / 8.1 mi south of Paris, and Paris Beauvais (BVA), around 85 km / 53 mi north of Paris (near the city of Beauvais).
Paris Charles de Gaulle and Paris Orly receive flights from most capitals and major cities across Europe. Meanwhile, low-cost airlines (notably Ryanair), operate flights to Paris Beauvais from many cities across Europe.
HOW TO GET FROM THE AIRPORTS TO THE HOTEL

- From Roissy-Charles de Gaulle: take the RER B to Gare du Nord. From there it is a 15-minute walk to the hotel, but you can also choose to finish the journey with a short taxi ride.
- From Paris-Orly: take the Orlyval until Antony, and take the RER B until Gare du Nord. From there it is a 15-minute walk to the hotel, but you can also choose to finish the journey with a short taxi ride.
BY TRAIN
Most international trains arrive at either Paris Gare du Nord or Paris Gare de l’Est. It is possible to take high-speed trains from cities in several neighbouring countries such as the UK, Germany and the Netherlands (as well as other cities in France), with companies such as TGV, Eurostar and Thalys. From Gare du Nord / Gare de l’Est to the hotel it is just a 10-15-minute walk or short taxi ride to the hotel.
Walk down Rue de Maubeuge, turn right on Rue de la Tour d’Auvergne and then left onto Rue des Martys. The hotel will be on your right.
METRO
Metro Saint-Georges is the closest to the hotel and is served by line 12.
