Santorini is the island born of love. Euphemus fell in love with a beautiful nymph, to the anger of her father, Poseidon. To escape his wrath, Euphemus cast a clod of earth into the open Aegean and, miraculously, the island of Santorini sprang up and became a safe haven for the lovers and Thira, their child. Or it resulted from a volcanic eruption. Do you prefer the Greek version or the mundane? The Cocoon Suites embrace the former with love, luxury and the loveliest location imaginable.

  • The serenity. For one of the most secluded and peaceful beaches on the island, head to Baxédes, a quiet beach with black sand and amazing chiselled-looking pink rocks. Northern side of the island, near the village of Oia.
