The Priest House Hotel ★★★★

A quintessentially English country retreat in a historic mill house.

By Rebecca Moore, VeryChic correspondent
“No finer county in England than Derbyshire” – Jane Austen

Modern Derbyshire, with its rolling hills, winding river and spectacular countryside landscape has lost none of the charm and romance that so stirred Jane and inspired many scenes in her most famous novel, Pride and Prejudice. And still within Derbyshire’s market towns and parishes, escapes to that elegant era can be found. The Priest House Hotel, a 1,000 year old hotel set around an authentic mill tower, provides a retreat from the hubbub of modern life worthy of an Austen novel.
