  • The culture. To visit Malaga and not see some art would be a crime, and while the birth city of Picasso throngs with must-sees, you can’t beat the artist’s own dedicated museum – the Museo Picasso, boasting 204 permanent works and consistently impressive temporary loans. Calle San Agustín 8, Malaga;www.museopicassomalaga.org/en.

  • The cuisine. Tastebuds duly tickled, head to Pedregalejo, the city’s maritime quarter, for the very best seafood. Though a 25-minute bus ride from the hotel, Andalusia’s seafood is worth it.
  • A sip of Malaga’s history at the city’s oldest tavern – Antigua Casa de Guardia. Just steps from the hotel, there’s really no excuse to miss it! Alameda Principal, 18, 29005 Málaga.
