  • The surrounding area. Visit Alte for a taste of the truly old Algarve; just over a half an hour's drive away, this beautiful village of white-washed houses sits amongst the trees and the mountains.
  • Heading inland to appreciate some of the Algarve's more rugged beauty, which is excellent for hiking, bird-watching, and mountain biking along the numerous trails and paths. The Via Algarviana is a 300 kilometre long route that runs from Alcoutim in the east to the western tip at Cape St. Vincent. www.viaalgarviana.org.

BY PLANE

  • The closest airport to the hotel is Faro Airport. It is also possible to fly to Lisbon, over a two hour drive away (note however, the flights listed below are to Faro).

    From the UK: Direct flights from London are operated by British Airways, Monarch, EasyJet and Ryanair. Easyjet & Ryanair fly from Bristol and Glasgow; Monarch & Ryanair fly from Manchester and Birmingham; Ryanair from Edinburgh and Aer Lingus & Ryanair from Belfast.

    From Ireland: Aer Lingus and Ryanair fly direct from Dublin, Cork and Shannon airports.

    From Germany: Air Berlin & Easyjet fly direct out of Berlin, while Air Berlin & Germanwings fly out of Hamburg. Ryanair fly out of Dusseldorf, Cologne and Frankfurt and TUIfly fly out of Dusseldorf, Frankfurt and Munich.

    From the Netherlands: Flying from Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Eindhoven, one can find direct flights from Transavia; Ryanair also fly direct from Eindhoven.

    From Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland: Norwegian and Ryanair fly direct from Stockholm, Sweden and Oslo, Norway. Only Norwegian operates direct flights from Copenhagen, Denmark, and indirect flights from Helsinki, Finland.

    From France: EasyJet and Ryanair operate direct flights from Paris to Faro. From other major cities such as Lyon, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Marseille and Nice, however, Tap Portugal fly direct to Lisbon airport.

HOW TO GET FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL

  • By transfer: The hotel provides a transfer from the airport for a surcharge.

    By taxi:     A taxi from Faro Airport will take around 15 minutes and will cost 17€ - 20€.

    By car: Hiring a car can give you more flexibility to explore the region throughout your stay. From Faro Airport, follow the N125-10 then turn left at the first major junction onto the IC4. Continue onto the N125-4 then in Loulé take the EM521. After passing the Restaurante Belo Mundo, turn left and left again and the hotel will be on your left.
