Crossroads Inn Traditional Lodgings

Authentic Greek getaway in the heart of Tinos

By Ellie Burnage, VeryChic correspondent
For me, the Greek islands truly are one of the most peaceful places on earth. They possess an ethereal quality, an underlying tranquillity that can put the most stressed of travellers at instant ease amongst their white-washed buildings and golden sands. But there was one I had yet to see. When my friends suggested a week in Tinos, I jumped at the chance, especially as this was no ordinary holiday: we were staying in the Crossroads Inn Traditional Lodging, in the heart of a traditional Tinian community – it couldn’t get much more authentic than this.

HOW TO GET FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL

  • From Mykonos Airport, the total journey to the hotel takes around 40 minutes by taxi and ferry. Take a taxi to Mykonos port, and take a ferry to Tinos.

There are usually 4 ferries a day from Mykonos to Tinos - see schedules on Fast Ferries, Hellenic Seaways and Blue Star Ferries.

From the port of Tinos, a taxi will take less than 10 minutes and will cost 6€ - 8€. If you choose to hire a car, turn right onto the beachfront road from the port, follow it for 350 metres and when you reach the supermarket on your left, turn left. Continue for 280 metres and turn left again, signposted to Tripotamos. Cross the ring road and continue straight for 3.5km where you’ll reach Tripotamos. At the first village entrance, turn right immediately after the Crossroads Inn sign and park at the village car park. Walk down the pedestrian alley and the reception will be the first building you see.
