In my eyes, there’s a magical healing quality in Italy’s air that no other country can quite seem to match up to. No matter how worn down you feel, the infectious vivacity of the land and people soon grants you with a renewed spring in your step. So when my husband booked the gem that is the Roseo Euroterme Wellness Resort in the beautiful region of Emilia-Romagna as a surprise anniversary getaway, I was absolutely delighted. But there’s more than healing in the air here; the therapeutic thermal waters, combined with top-class service and outstanding facilities, made sure we returned more refreshed and rejuvenated than ever before.
A break from the daily grind was exactly what I needed. Luckily for me, I was whisked away to the beautiful Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy, where the magnificent landscape in itself is enough to rejuvenate the mind, body and soul. But my husband had a more direct approach in mind: the thermal waters and excellent facilities of the Roseo Euroterme Wellness Resort, nestled in the quaint town of Bagno di Romagna.
One of the first basic ingredients to a successful wind down is undoubtedly a good night’s sleep: and in the comfort of the hotel’s accommodation, we were in good hands. The stylish modernity of our room made us feel instantly at home. Once settled it, we were ready to literally test the waters in the hotel’s thermal pools, where free access meant we could wallow to our heart’s content. Their long history goes back thousands of years; rain that originally fell around Mount Comero sunk into the soil and travelled deep underground, along the way heating up and being infused with natural substances, before resurfacing in gushing springs. With a plethora of massages and made-to-measure spa programmes also available in the spa, I finally felt myself truly relax.
The fantastic well-being facilities certainly were one of the hotel’s highlights, but it certainly are not the only things it has going for it. We spent many a morning enjoying the freshly-baked delights of the breakfast buffet, before lounging in the tranquil ambience of the outdoor pool, complete with picturesque waterfall. After a refreshing afternoon cycle, we finished our days devouring delicious local dishes and Italian classics in the on-site restaurant, before reclining with a tasty beverage in the atmospheric bar. Well, I wanted a relaxing break, and I got it, with an added unbeatable touch of Italian style.
