Blanc… In sunny Arcachon, white abounds. Inside the villa, it is all around from stark white pillars reaching up to period decorative moulding and airy high ceilings, to the pristine white of each studio’s newly renovated kitchenettes and bathrooms. Outside, take a boat trip into the bay and the incongruous Dune of Pilat will stun you with its mountain of white sand reaching up out of the forest like a wave.
Rouge… No visit to the Médoc region would be complete without a taste of the local red wines, with Château Lafitte, Château Margot, and Château Mouton-Rothschild being just a few of the world-famous wines that originate from this fertile region’s vines. With the hiking, kayaking and cycling available here, it’s easy to forget that Bordeaux is just one hour’s drive away, and a great choice for an afternoon’s wine tasting and museum perusing!

- A stroll up the Dune of Pilat, the massive sandbank slowly migrating back into the pine forest behind it. This is a quintessential experience for all the family – great for a couple of hours sliding down the sides, or a long hike along its entire length for fantastic views of the bay below.
- A glimpse of bird heaven from one of the boat trips around the Île aux Oiseaux – literally an island only inhabited by birds in the Arcachon Bay. Ask at the residence for details and don’t forget your binoculars!
- Wandering around your own little neighbourhood – the Ville d’Hiver. This area is one of the must-sees of the entire resort thanks to its vast period mansions, built back in the heyday of Arcachon’s fame as the holiday destination for aristocrats. Just a short walk from the city centre and Arcachon Beach, Villa Regina boasts a peaceful location an hour from Bordeaux in southwest France.
BY PLANE
Bordeaux is served by Bordeaux-Merignac Airport (BOD), which sits around 12 km / 7.5 mi west of the city centre, and around a 45 minute drive to the hotel. It is an international airport which is fairly well-served by flights from elsewhere in France along with a number of capitals cities and other large cities across Europe.
HOW TO GET FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL
By taxi: A taxi from Bordeaux Airport to the villa will take around 45 minutes and will cost 90€ - 100€.
By bus/train: Bus 48 goes from the airport to Pessac every hour, and takes around 25 minutes (2€). From there, you can get the train to Arcachon which can take between 20 minutes to an hour depending on which one you take. Tickets cost 11€ - 17€ and from there it is a 10-15 minute walk or a quick taxi journey to the villa.
By car: From Bordeaux Airport, get onto the D1563 then take the A630 ramp to Arcachon/Bayonne/Toulouse/Pessac. Merge onto the A630 then continue onto the A63/E5/E70, following signs for Arcachon/Mont-de-Marsan/Bayonne/Saint Sébastien/Canéjan/Cestas. Continue onto the A660 then the N250 which becomes the D1250. At the third roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Avenue de la Libération then turn left onto Cours Desbiey. Keep left to continue on Avenue Victor Hugo then turn left onto Allée Corrigan and the hotel will be on your right. Grid reference: 44.655985, -1.172243.
