Calp might once have been best known as an ancient fishing village, but there’s nothing fishy about what’s being cooked up at the Cook Book Gastro Boutique Hotel. This once sleepy little fishing village is now a hot tourist destination in sunny Alicante, with beautiful sandy beaches, vibrant nightlife, and astonishing natural phenomena to explore. Add all that to the Cook Book Gastro Boutique Hotel, and you’ve got a recipe for a great holiday.
Recipe for whipping up a wonderful stay in the Cook Book Gastro Boutique Hotel:
First, you need to start with your base – one great location. Ours is just 0.6 miles from the ancient town centre, where many of the popular tourist attractions like the old town walls and the Iglesia Vieja can be found.
Next, you need to add a few rooms. Just a few though; this is a boutique hotel after all. With a small, intimate number of spacious rooms, it’s easy to preserve the quality. Ours include roomy bathrooms, stylish modern décor, and terraces with views of the Peñón de Ifach Natural Park.
Then, you’ll need to start making your spa. Our spa comes with a free 40-minute circuit for all guests staying more than two nights. 40 minutes is a brilliant appetiser to rejuvenate you, but if you hunger for more, don’t worry – between the sauna, the solarium, the hot tub, and the treatments and massages in the Wellness Centre, there’s plenty to sate your appetite for relaxation.
Of course, no Cook Book Gastro Boutique Hotel would be complete without a restaurant. We serve ours with both a Mediterranean fine dining restaurant for those who want to sample locally inspired dishes, and another international-style restaurant with a wider selection of cuisines.

- The beaches. It might be tempting to stay around one of the two hotel pools, but Calp’s beaches are some of the most immaculate in the whole of the Costa Blanca. Only just over a mile from the hotel, too.
- Unsurprisingly for a former fishing village, Calp is famed for its seafood. Wander down to the harbour and you’ll find plenty of seafood restaurants to sample; Baydel is highly recommended – try their signature paella.
Avenida del Port, 10, 03710 Calp, Spain - You wouldn’t be able to miss the Rock of Ifach standing tall over Calp if you tried; get a close look and enjoy one of the many fantastic walking routes that take you through the Nature Park. Climb the rock, and you can see as far as Ibiza on a good day.
- The Festival Museum. In Calp’s pretty Old Town, there are many museums and churches to explore. The Festival Museum is the most colourful of these, displaying the bright and elaborate costumes worn to fiestas and celebrations though Calp’s history.
