For centuries gone by, wealthy holidaymakers from the four corners of the globe have all made their way to the sundrenched Côte D’Azur to feast on gorgeous French cuisine and soak up the glitz and glamour that perpetually floats on the warm sea breeze. And no establishment embodies the region’s ubiquitous splendour more than the Hotel Negresco. Perched proudly on the spectacular Baie des Anges, this legendary white palace offers exquisite service and sumptuous accommodation just steps from the glistening turquoise of the Mediterranean in the coastline’s capital of Nice – ah, la vie est belle.
The Côte D’Azur is something to be marvelled at in its own right: this glorious stretch of coastline is bursting with crystal clear turquoise bays, world-class dining, glitz and glamour, quaint coastal towns and year-round sunshine. But if you were to experience all this from the luxury of the Hotel Negresco? Well, your sun-kissed getaway suddenly becomes the holiday of a lifetime.
Since opening its doors on January 8th in 1913, the grand white structure of the Hotel Negresco has served as an important landmark for the crowds of tourists and locals alike as they wander unhurriedly down the celebrated Promenade des Anglais. This legendary grand palace holds a prime seafront position, the gleaming white of its turrets reflecting in the Mediterranean sun whilst the waves of the Mediterranean glitter softly below. Magnificent works of art from throughout the ages are on display throughout the establishment’s splendid interior, and the Baroque style and antique furniture that embellish the Exclusive Rooms truly submerge guests in a world of sophisticated elegance. What better to wake up to first thing in the morning than a pristine view of the verdant gardens of Palais Massena and the cerulean sea.
With top-quality accommodation comes first-class service. The impeccable staff and concierge service are only too happy to cater to your smallest desire, whilst the dining opportunities will have your mouth watering. Headed by Chef Jean-Denis Rieubland and serving delectable cuisine inspired by Provence, the award-winning Le Chantecler Restaurant is one of the finest establishments in the city. But if you’re in the mood for a slightly more simple supper, La Rotonde Brasserie welcomes you with its vibrant unusual décor which includes an 18th-century carousel and wooden horses.
If you manage to drag yourself away from the grandeur of your luxurious home, the never-ending treasures of Nice are at your very fingertips. Spend a morning perusing the famous flower market on Cours Saleya, head to Avenue Jean-Médecin for some shopping or just bask in the sun on the beach – the choice is yours. But know that whatever you do, you’re in good company. Such prestigious guests as Elton John, the Beatles and Princess Grace of Monaco have passed through the legendary doors of Hotel Negresco – so follow in the footsteps of the greats and experience life in the lap of luxury on the wonderful Côte D’Azur.
