Deauville

France

Just a 10-minute walk from the beach, Hotel Almoria is in the heart of Deauville, less than an hour from Caen on France’s north coast.

BY FERRY FROM THE UK

  • Ferries travel between Portsmouth and Caen-Ouistreham Port three times a day with prices varying form 23€ to 40€. The voyage lasts around 5 and a half hours and tickets can be booked directly from Brittany Ferries’ website.

Once you arrive in Caen, either finish the journey with a 34-minute taxi ride costing between 45€ and 50€, or drive to the hotel following the directions below:
Leaving the port, take Take Route de la Pointe du siège and D37 to Le Mesnil/D513 in Bréville-les-Monts. In Varaville, get on the D27 to Deauville-Trouville, and then Auberville/Villers-sur-Mer.

BY PLANE

  • Caen Airport and Deauville Airport are the closest to the hotel but very few companies operate to these cities. To Caen there are flights from London-Southend with Flybe, and Ryanair flies from London-Stansted to Deauville. At the moment, no other European cities are connected to these airports. Because of that, we rather recommend flying to Paris and taking a train, car or bus from there.

Paris has three main airports: Paris Charles de Gaulle (to the northwest), Paris Orly (to the south) & the low-cost airport Paris Beauvais (to the north, a little further out of the city). Flights to Paris are listed below:

    - From the UK: British Airways, Air France, CityJet and EasyJet all operate direct flights out of London. EasyJet also fly direct from Bristol, Belfast, Edinburgh and Glasgow, while Ryanair fly direct from Manchester and Flybe fly from Birmingham.

    - From Ireland: Flying from Dublin, direct flights are operated by Aer Lingus, Air France and Ryanair. Aer Lingus also fly from Cork, while Ryanair also fly from Shannon.

    - From Germany: Airlines flying direct from Berlin include: Lufthansa, Air Berlin, Air France, EasyJet and Germanwings. Air France and Germanwings also fly from Hamburg and Dusseldorf while Lufthansa also fly out of Frankfurt and Munich.

    - From the Netherlands: Air France and KLM both provide direct flights out of Amsterdam.

    - From Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland: SAS, Air France, KLM and Norwegian all fly direct from Stockholm in Sweden, Oslo in Norway and Copenhagen in Denmark. Low-cost airline Ryanair also fly out of Stockholm and Oslo while low-cost Easyjet also fly from Copenhagen. Finnair and Norwegian fly direct from Helsinki, Finland.

    - From France: Air France operate shuttle flights from most major cities to Paris, including: Strasbourg, Lyon, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Biarritz, Marseille and Nice.

BY TRAIN

  • Paris-Orly and Roissy-Charles de Gaulle are very well connected by train and you can calculate the best journey directly on SNCF. For practical reasons, choose “Trouville-Deauville” as destination since it is much better communicated and closer to the hotel. From there, it is a 15 minute walk or a quick taxi journey to the hotel.

BY CAR

  • From Paris, it takes around two hours to get to the hotel. Get onto the A14 then merge onto the A13, following signs for Normandie/Honfleur/Deauville/Trouville/Caen. Take the A132 exit toward Lisieux then merge onto the D677 then follow the D27A into Deauville. Turn onto the Avenue de la République/D513 and the hotel will be on your left.
