Minos Palace Hotel & Suites ★★★★★ - Adults Only

Before we embark on a holiday, wherever the destination may be, we always think it wise to do some prior research; and from what we can gather, the Minos Palace Hotel & Suites - Adults Only, a stone’s throw from Agios Nikolaos, is an out-of-this-world haven of luxury. With its 360o views of the glistening Mediterranean, delicious dining options and sumptuous accommodation, it looks too good to be true – but on arriving, this wonderful establishment turned out to be even better than we could have imagined.

Solely commanding the majority of a rocky peninsula, the adults-only hotel exudes an air of exclusivity from the very beginning. The contemporary white buildings are strewn artfully across the complex, interspersed with pretty landscape gardens and dazzling pools surrounded by gleaming sun loungers. After being warmly welcomed and directed to our Sea View Suite, we were delighted to discover a welcome basket of fruit and a bottle of wine waiting to greet us – a nice touch from VeryChic!

The suite itself was spell-binding; it was incredibly spacious, and, like every other room, offered stunning views of the magnificent Mirabello Bay. Décor stylishly carried out with earthly shades and contemporary fittings meant it felt like a real home away from home – apart from the luxury touches of course, such as a walk-in dressing room, fully-furnished balcony and magnificent private pool – I only wish we had those at home!

Our first days were spent enjoying the luxurious facilities of the hotel, from basking on the adorable private beach to taking refreshing dips in the pool and partaking in exhilarating water sports. As self-confessed gluttons, cuisine has always been an extremely important aspect of our holidays; and the hotel delivered on every level, as its eateries are regarded as some of the best on the island.

In terms of location, it was truly excellent: it felt like a private retreat, yet was still only half an hour’s walk away from the vibrant centre of Agios Nikolaos, full of bars, restaurants and cultural treats. After a week in this Greek paradise, we felt refreshed, rejuvenated and ready to face our day-to-day lives once more – thank you Minos Palace Hotel & Suites - Adults Only!
