In the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional du Queyras, nestled among the picturesque French Alps at a height of 2,204 metres, sits the charming town of Saint-Véran – known as one of the prettiest towns in all of France. One of the highest inhabited towns in Europe, it’s filled with cosy gingerbread-cottage chalets built in wood and stone and quaint and characterful touches such as old fountains, outdoor bread ovens and pretty sundials. - The Natural Regional Park of Queyras is great for exploring. In summer there are a whole host of activities to try, from rock climbing and fishing to mountaineering, canyoning and hiking.
- Saint-Véran is known as one of the most beautiful villages in France, so take time to explore. Of particular interest is the village church and La Maison Traditionelle – an old traditional Alpine house.
- Take a visit to the old copper mine, where there’s an exhibition detailing the history of the mine and the village.
- Check out the Soum Museum of Arts and Traditions to get a better insight into Saint-Véran and life in the high Alps.

Alternatively, the better-served Marseille-Provence Airport (MRS), just northwest of Marseille, is around 270 km / 170 mi / 3 hours & 20 minutes' drive southwest of the hotel. It receives regular flights from capitals and major cities from across Europe.
