Eat
Elizabeth Gilbert redefined her relationship with food in Italy, but she could just as easily have headed straight for the Grand Mirage Resort & Thalasso ***** in Bali. Any one of the five restaurants would have sated her appetite, serving a range of international and Indonesian cuisines. There is also a cocktail and mocktail bar in the pool, which serves tasty coconut cocktails from the resort’s very own coconut tree. Theme nights bring the cuisine alive, adding a touch of that inimitable Indonesian spirit to the hotel’s food.
Pray
Bali is known as the “Island of the Gods” for a reason. Eden can be rediscovered in the tropical Mirage Gardens, where you will find an overwhelming sense of serenity and peace amongst the vibrant trees and bushes - or perhaps you’ll feel a little more adventurous, and instead choose to marvel at the wonders of the natural world with one of the resort’s many activities. Why not try the highly acclaimed Seawalker experience and take a walk on the seabed. It’s a surreal and beautiful experience where you get to see and interact with all of the surrounding sea life, from the tropical fish to the bright coral reef.
And, if you are looking for a different kind of divinity, then you must check into the hotel’s very own spa, either to take a dip in the soothing aqua medic pool, filled with healing heated seaweed and seawater, or enjoy one of the many massages or treatments on offer.
