It was official: I was caught up in the hectic pace of the rat race. The more hours I spent on busy trains and fighting my way through heaving pavements, the more desperate I became to escape it all and reconnect with nature. But it wasn’t until I’d scrolled through VeryChic’s latest offerings that I found my perfect getaway: a stay at Hotel National Resort **** in the traditional Swiss village of Champéry, an authentic and peaceful mountain haven in the heart of the beautiful Portes du Soleil ski area. Thanks to its indulgent spa, luxurious rooms and spectacular surrounding scenery, it’s a beautiful retreat all year round.

HOW TO GET FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL

  • By transfer: The hotel can provide a free transfer from/to Champery train station.

    By public transport: You can take the train from Geneva Airport to Aigle, then the R train to Champéry. The total journey will take 2 and a half hours. It is a 6-minute walk to the hotel from Champéry.Village.

    By car: From Geneva Airport, the journey will take around an hour and 20 minutes. Merge onto A1/E25/E62 then continue onto the A1 then A9/E62 for 52km. Take exit 18-St-Triphon towards St-Triphon/Pas-de-Morgins/Monthey-Nord then turn right onto Route de Saint-Triphon (signs for Pas-de-Morgins/Monthey). At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Route de la Vallée heading to Pas-de-Morgins/Champéry/Monthey-Est then continue onto Route de la Vallée. Turn left to stay on Route de Troistorrents then continue into Champéry. Turn right onto Rue du Village/Grande-Rue and the hotel will be on your left. Grid reference: 46.178880, 6.870236.
