Casa do Adro Hotel ★★★★

A 17th-century mansion in a lesser known part of Portugal.

By Hannah Wright, VeryChic correspondent
The renovation of important historic buildings always raises some excitement. In Ferreira do Zêzere, the story was no different: a grand old palace belonging to the Ribeiro da Mota family, their wealth stemming from a pair of inquistors in Goa, India,  was transformed into a magnificent boutique hotel. Set in the heart of central Portugal, the Caso Do Adro **** has been preserved to ensure that every historical detail and component of the mansion is reminiscent of when it was originally built in the 17th century. But rest assured, it wouldn’t be a VeryChic hotel without a few added luxuries for the demanding modern-day traveller...
