A warm-hearted welcome is the first thing that springs to mind when you think of visiting Provence, and it is surely the abiding memory of a stay in the Le Paradou Avignon Sud where the staff seem to delight in surpassing even the legendary local tradition of friendly attentiveness. The Deluxe Rooms in the new wing of the building carry the same air of warm welcome and invitation, plus all the modern comforts and conveniences that help to create a relaxing stay. The design and décor may not be typically Provençal, but the easy-going atmosphere of the warm south is unmistakable.
The relaxed pace of life in Provence extends to lounging by the pool (naturally) and strolling through the delightful gardens for a peaceful countryside experience, not quite as isolated as in the hills around Paradou village, but full of flowers and the herbal and citrus scents of Provence. After that point I’m sure you’ll have worked up quite an appetite! The Resto du Paradou celebrates its culinary heritage with flair, respect for the seasons, and a love of local produce. In a perfect setting for all seasons, you can dine in the comfort of a fireside glow when it’s cool and when the weather is warm, enjoy the dappled shade of the terrace as you look out over the pool and the countryside.
This is the ideal location for exploring the highlights of the region. Avignon city centre is only 15 minutes away, and is home to the much-lauded Palais du Papes, one of the city’s must-see attractions. Arles, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence and Aix-en-Provence are all within an hour’s drive too. But the countryside equally attracts nature and sports lovers: a nearby golf course, the Camargue Nature Park with wild horses and flamingos, and the Luberon Park are testimony to the variety and wealth of the natural beauty of Provence.
