Often when I encounter tourist towns as old as Budva, I find they have a sleepy, slightly stale quality that comes as a consequence of being stuck in time; this is definitely not the case in Budva. Instead I was delighted to find, juxtaposed with its extensive and fascinating history, that it possessed an effervescent energy. This modern streak manifests itself beautifully in the Hotel Moskva ****, which offers a refreshing, luxurious take on the spirit of the Stari Grad (Old Town) and attests to the city’s nickname of “Montenegrin Miami”.
The hotel’s décor, simply put, oozed decadence; chandeliers and smart, modern furnishings immediately gave the impression of effortless elegance. Like the rest of the hotel, my deluxe bedroom followed a monochrome colour scheme decked out in luxurious fabrics that made the room feel bright, airy, and opulent. However that is not to say that the hotel lacked warmth – the compassion and hospitality that the community here is known for really shone through during my stay and was a defining highlight of my stay here.
While there were a number of scrumptious restaurants, bars and cafés wedged into the winding lanes of the city centre to sample, dining at the Hotel Moskva**** is a real treat. Whether it was the authentic Mediterranean cuisine in the evening, or the sublime fresh breakfast (a real steal considering it’s complimentary for VeryChic customers), it’s clear to see that the Hotel Moskva **** is passionate about fine cuisine and providing their guests with the best. For a feel of the unique old-meets-new atmosphere that Dubva harbours, there’s no better place to stay than the Hotel Moskva****.
