Towering majestically above Dubai’s historic creek is where you’ll find the Grand Hyatt Dubai, like a shining beacon of the decadence Dubai is renowned for. As someone who’s been lucky enough to come to Dubai for both business and pleasure I must say I already had high expectations; what other novel delights could the City of Gold possibly surprise me with?

It goes without saying that I was bowled over. Size wise alone it was extraordinary, but it was the extravagance that sealed the deal for me, marble columns, lush ferns and chandeliers dripping with diamonds adorned the lobby and made for quite the breathtaking first impression. Feeling washed out from my long flight over here I felt the executive call of my Club Room – brimming with modern Arabic influences and state of the art comforts. And that was before laying eyes on the ensuite, which was so glamorous it looked like my own personal miniature spa.

Feeling pampered with my bubble bath in check, it was high time to venture to the restaurants and find something to satisfy my stomach. Though there are a fair few international options, the vast majority of the cuisine was Indian, Japanese and Singaporean inspired. You have the option to dine on the outdoor terrace overlooking the city beneath you, while top class chefs cook in an open kitchen nearby.

With all the ultra-decadent services the Grand Hyatt Dubai provides, it becomes easy to forget what lies beyond this mini metropolis; and yet the hotel is located perfectly for easy access to both Dubai’s financial and entertainment hubs. Premium golf clubs, malls, bars, and pretty much any whim your heart could desire are no more than a wish away.
