By Sophie Lawrence, VeryChic correspondent
When I was younger, I had a copy of L’Eau des Collines by Marcel Pagnol that I’d read cover to cover. Pagnol’s spellbinding description of Provence has since captured my heart; I can almost smell the scent of lavender, herbs and olive in the air as he speaks lovingly of the rolling hills and the blissful heat while the epic tale of Manon unfolds. Of course I never really believed that somewhere existed which resembled the paradise that I’d dreamed up – that is until I stumbled upon Le Mas de la Rose in sleepy Orgon, a perfect dose of Provence.
