Any holiday in the Loire region should have at least one castle on the itinerary, so why not stay in a bona fide château yourself? Welcome to the Domaine de la Tortinière, complete with turrets, wooded glades, and unbeatable service. Are you sitting comfortably? Then we’ll begin…
Whether you opt for a Prestige room or one of the château’s turret Suites, each night and morning bring a real sense of fairy-tale magic. Blending antique period furniture, modern amenities and comfort, along with views of the verdant valley, you’ll feel like Sleeping Beauty waking up after a long sleep in a magical kingdom.
Be their guest and put their service to the test – the Domaine de la Tortinière is run by third-generation experts in the hotel business, matching a convivial family atmosphere with excellent services to rival any fairy tale castle. Take a dip in their heated outdoor pool before playing tennis, followed by a lazy punt down the Indre River in one of the hotel’s boats.
As you wander the vast grounds, ancient Lebanese cedars and pink-white cyclamen add to the stunning magical atmosphere. You almost expect the pumpkins in the vegetable patch to start swelling into carriages before your eyes, yet these are strictly for the table only – accompanying the “three-way pork” special served up in the excellent restaurant, alongside local delicacies like the Marigny-Marmande truffle.
For fairy tale magic, the four-star Domaine de la Tortinière is the perfect fit for any prince or princess.
