  • The décor in the hotel. Rooms just aren’t designed like this anymore, with solid exposed masonry and stark wooden beams overhead to complement the antique furnishings.
  • The traditional French cuisine at the hotel’s restaurant… the cheese board in particular is a highlight for travellers.
  • The location. Peaceful Crépon is perfect for a quiet holiday retreat, but busier Bayeux is only 12 km away.
  • The gardens. Exploring the enjoying award-winning gardens is a lovely way to spend a leisurely morning, without even leaving the hotel grounds.
Ferme de la Rançonnière

A timeless pleasure near the beaches of Normandy.

Remarkable
8.8 /10
By Rebecca Moore, VeryChic correspondent
You perhaps haven’t heard of Crépon, a small but charming town which sits nestled between Bayeux and Caen. But this enchanting, delightful alcove is a postcard worthy sport for an idyllic getaway. Surrounded by countryside and farmland, the Ferme de la Rançonnière is peaceful and restful, with only 35 bedrooms and a large garden to enjoy. Even better, it is conveniently located for visits to Normandy’s most famous sites. This hotel is steeped in a history of its own, a cultural gem in its own right.
