CSky Hotel ★★★★★

I could spend hours talking about Santorini. After my visit here – my first ever – I was found guilty of waxing lyrical to anyone who listened about the impossibly blue seas, blue enough to look like they’d been painted by a child, and the bundles of white washed towns huddled on cliff edges that gleamed in the Grecian sun. The CSky Hotel ***** is a lone pinprick on the island’s west-facing coast, where tranquillity meets convenience and convenience meets unmatched beauty; it is, simply put, superlative.

This is a hotel that oozes quiet, perfectly balanced professionalism – warm smiles that aren’t insincere, a “can-do” attitude that is neither simpering nor overbearing. After retreating to our suite, laden with wine and other welcome gifts, we threw open the veranda doors and simply stared. Besides the gentle crash of the waves against the cliffs below us, we were greeted by nothing but golden silence. Serene doesn’t quite cut it for views like these, layer upon layer of piercing blue interspersed by the odd Aegean island. And it was just so, bubbling away in the hot tub with a glass of wine in hand, that we quite blissfully whiled away the hours.

At the CSky Hotel ***** it seems as if lifting a finger is simply not an option; a divine breakfast was brought to our terrace each morning - as if you needed another reason to bask in the sun on the veranda. If you are able to tear yourself from the haven of your suite (and really, I wouldn’t blame you if you couldn’t), the staff are on hand to effortlessly organise island ventures, restaurant bookings, and just about everything else under the Grecian sun. To say that any hotel achieves perfection is an outlandish claim; yet the quietly spectacular bliss of the CSky Hotel ***** is something that must be seen to be believed.
