“Travelling—it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller”, Ibn Battuta once wrote. As one of the greatest travellers in history, he would know. And this is why once you step inside the hotel lobby, you will notice the 38 Moroccan-style lanterns, one for each country he has visited. Although, Battuta never got to see Dubai, but if he had, we imagine his reaction would have been the same as most visitors: awed by the glamour and excitement. So, reside at the Oaks Ibn Battuta Gate Dubai and tell your own story.
Ibn Battuta set off from home at the age of 21, and didn’t return for 24 years. In this time, he became renowned as one of the greatest travellers of all time, covering most of the Muslim world and beyond, everywhere from Granada to Timbuktu to Tangiers, and as far east as Beijing and the Philippines.
Fortunately for your bank account and annual leave allowance, you no longer have to travel quite as far as Battuta in order to experience the many wonders that he did.
