Rome, the Eternal City, has been a vibrant hub for centuries: at the height of its imperial days it established itself as a powerful capital and, despite its tumultuous history, the glory of its past has emanated through to the present day. It has since remained an influential city of architecture, culture, art and fashion throughout the world – and with good reason, too. With an unending list of nearby sights to be seen and streets to be explored, NH Collection Palazzo Cinquecento ***** offers sophistication and comfort on an ideally located central square.
Rome earned its title as the Eternal City through the strong belief in its ancient status as an empire that would go on forever, no matter how many others came and collapsed. And it’s true that this now-cosmopolitan capital has succeeded in evolving to suit the times, no matter the obstacles. Similarly, NH Collection Palazzo Cinquecento *****, though set in a historic building, has adapted its atmosphere accordingly with a complete renovation in 2015.
Luxurious and sophisticated, NH Collection Palazzo Cinquecento *****, is an amalgamation of past and present, a fusion of history and modernity, with its contemporary interior décor in stark juxtaposition with the gardens’ Roman ruins that date back to the 6th century and offer a unique insight into the rich history of this city. These ties to the traditions of times gone by start right at the hotel’s doorstep, thanks to its central location near world-renowned sites such as the Colosseum, Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore and the Rome Opera House, amongst others.
Nevertheless, if after a day of immersing yourself in history, imbibing the culture, and discovering the finer details, you’d prefer to spend the evening appreciating the bigger picture from a bird’s eye view, NH Collection Palazzo Cinquecento ***** also boasts a rooftop terrace and rooms with expansive views over the city, gardens and ancient ruins. Retiring for the night, you’ll get a true sense of Julius Caesar’s famous words — “Veni, vidi, vici. (I came, I saw, I conquered.)”
