Hotel Cap Negret ★★★★

Even if we weren’t all feverishly jumping up and down like my niece and nephew, it’s safe to say the entire family was equally as excited about making our escape to the Spanish coast. We all let out a sigh of relief upon seeing the sun drenched Hotel Cap Negret sat happily on the beach – quite literally – of Altea Bay. Despite being no more than 5 or 10 minutes from the charming town of Altea, the hotel had an atmosphere of being blissfully secluded.

It wasn’t long before everyone made a beeline for the pool (myself included, the sun-worshipper that I am) but not before I soaked up the view from my hotel room. Spectacular views of the Mediterranean were there to greet me from dawn until dusk, and were an ideal finishing touch to my spacious sanctuary. Once I made my way downstairs I found everyone well and truly content by the pool – my mum had even already managed to source a rather tempting looking cocktail from the pool bar.

Yet the Hotel Cap Negret doesn’t let you settle for days idling tanning by the pool or the pebble beach – at least if you don’t want to! My dad and brother soon dashed off for the golf course while the kids gallivanted off with the Animation team, and I even tried my hand at a few off road cycling trails with the help of the hotel staff.

While food can sometimes be an issue to agree on for a family of our size, the numerous on site restaurants kept everyone happy with new and equally delicious dishes every night – we were often the last ones there, still buzzing about our days and already planning tomorrow’s adventures. The verdict from everyone was clear; the Hotel Cap Negret was an all-round winner!
