The idea of a picturesque Greek island remaining largely unknown to swathes of tourists seemed theoretically impossible, let alone one an hour away from Athens by boat. And yet Poros is just that; beloved by painters and locals, who all succumbed to the charms of the pastel coloured houses and verdant pine trees on first sight, this is a welcome paradise from the hectic city lifestyle. It is here, encircled by lush gardens and a minutes away from the beach, that we find our own island sanctuary, the Dimitra Boutique Hotel.
