I could describe Provence as something of an addiction. I don't feel quite right unless I have an annual dose of lavender fields, rolling hills and sun-baked hilltop villages where the sound of swallows twittering is the only thing that breaks the peace. My other half and I were heading to one of its most iconic villages, Gordes, staggered across a hilltop overlooking the Luberon. Le Mas des Herbes Blanches is the ultimate luxurious yet wholesome countryside retreat.
