As the name suggests, the Bliss Riad is nothing less than pure bliss; a dose of mythical paradise in Medina, western Marrakech. High white arches, carved wooden detail, bright magnolia walls, touches of vibrant colour… everything that springs to mind when thinking of classic Moroccan design. The riad itself offers a wealth of activities, from soaking up the sun or dining on the rooftop terrace, to relaxing in the spa. Encircled by typically Moroccan, bustling, entwinning streets and souks, the Bliss Riad is just waiting to be your oasis in The Red City!
Look beyond the fantastic, perhaps a little crowded, narrow Moroccan streets and bustling souks, and a riad awaits you before a simple looking door. A riad is an authentically Moroccan manor with an interior courtyard and rooftop terrace; a hidden treasure where guests are transported from the charmingly busy Medina streets to a tranquil oasis. Bliss Riad is no exception…beautifully calm, each room is thoughtfully designed and complete with majestic antique doors, each one being your gateway to an atmospheric haven.
We chose to stay in an Executive Room, called Nomade - each room is uniquely named and has its own significant meaning. Encompassing a tall ceiling and stylish but authentic décor it was spacious and bright, and included (much to my delight) a traditional Moroccan bath. Soaking amongst the rose petals I felt an infinite calm wash over me. Curtains divided the rooms instead of doors, giving it an air of peaceful openness, and the lovely butler (thanks to VeryChic) was always on hand, while retaining utmost discretion.
Venturing out of our charming room, the tranquil, open roofed courtyard was great for a quiet pause before heading up to the breath-taking rooftop terrace. Basking in the sun, we dined in the Bliss Riad’s restaurant, the Caméléon, whilst looking out over the panoramic views that stretch to the mountains. We enjoyed fresh and local Moroccan food while soaking up a warm atmosphere; their vast menu ranges from delicious tagines to couscous, all accompanied by Moroccan wines and rums flavoured with fruits from the local souk.
The spa and hamman in their wellness centre was our next port of call, boasting a range of massages and treatments using authentically Moroccan bathing rituals. Feeling suitably rejuvenated we took to Medina’s streets and souks, where we were taken on a multi-sensory journey; aromas of such I have never encountered my whole life, tastes that still linger, sounds of bartering market sellers and snake charmers, sights of all the colours of the rainbow and the sun warming our skin…would I go back? In a heartbeat!

Marrakech is served by Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK), located to the southwest, less than 10 km / 6 mi from the city centre.
The airport is very well-served with international flights from most European capitals and a number of other large cities.
HOW TO GET FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL
