Morning grazing…
After awaking from a delightfully deep sleep, our day at Etoile Pompadour begins in La Cave du Cavallo, a reinvented cellar, where the generous breakfast (already included, thanks to VeryChic) laden with fresh pastries and fruit gives you a great start for an activity-packed day.
Giving you free rein…
After champing at the bit, you can head out for some real horse-riding at the resort’s own equestrian academy, where you can be trained by some of the best, and even catch some competitions and learn about the breeding programme. With the National Stud just a few minutes away, the whole culture in these parts is pivotal around horses, and a fascinating world to discover. Or perhaps you would prefer a spot of tennis, a round of golf, or even a taste of hunting? The beautiful setting of the vast 63-hectare parkland offers all the traditional sports you can imagine, plus others like archery and rugby.
Unbridled feasting…
After all that activity, you’re sure to have worked up an appetite. Choose from international cuisine in the beautiful La Marquise, superb local wine and cheese in La Cave du Cavallo, or cocktails and tapas in the chic Etalon bar and lounge – each eatery offers a different shade of the refined contemporary and traditional blend that runs throughout the resort.
Bedding down
Eating like a horse inevitably leads to craving your own personal resting place, or in this case luxuriously furnished rooms in the stunning 19th-century Cavallo, where more of that modern-authentic blend can be enjoyed in the exposed stone walls and minimalist décor.
