Dubrovnik Airport (DBV), is located around a 15.5km / 9.5 mi drive to the southeast of Dubrovnik city centre, and around 180km / 110 mi drive (including a short ferry ride) southeast of the hotel.
Most flights are to this airport are seasonal, and it may be necessary to fly indirect via another European city. British Airways operate direct flights from London-Gatwick all year round however, Vueling fly direct from Rome all year round, and Croatia Airlines fly direct from Frankfurt, Rome and Zagreb all year round.
Another option is to fly to Split Airport (SPU), also known as Resnik Airport, located around 24 km / 15 mi west of Split city centre, and around 3 hours north of the hotel by ferry, or 2.5 hours by speedboat.
It is an important hub for Croatia Airlines, although a number of other airlines, in particular EasyJet, also operate to and from the airport. All together it is possible to find seasonal flights from many major cities across Europe.
HOW TO GET FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL
Reaching the hotel is somewhat of a lengthy process thanks to the island's absolutely beautiful, secluded location.
From Dubrovnik:- The hotel can organise a private taxi transfer from Dubrovnik to Vela Luka for 200€ for up to 4 people. Another option is to book shared shuttle transfer from Dubrovnik Airport to Vela Luka for 40€ per person.
Otherwise, it is possible to take the airport shuttle bus to the main bus station in Dubrovnik, followed by an Arriva bus to Vela Luka from there.
From Split:
- The hotel can organise taxi transfers from Split Airport to Split ferry port. The driver can buy ferry ticket and take you directly to the ferry for Vela Luka. The taxi cost 40€ + 8 € per person for ferry ticket.
Fast track ferry lines are available between Split and Korcula, ticket details are available on Jadrolinija or Krilo.
